Dr. Nanda graduated in 1982 from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research at Madras University in Pondicherry, India. Due to his interest in anatomy of the brain during his first year of medical school, he set his sights on becoming a Neurosurgeon. After graduation, he joined the Neurosurgical Residency program at Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now Drexel University College of Medicine) in Philadelphia, PA, where he started his career as a neurosurgeon. He then went on to do a fellowship in skull base vascular neurosurgery at Presbyterian-University Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh. As a clinician and researcher, he is involved in skull base vascular outcomes and complications. Dr. Nanda has been recognized as a global leader in neurosurgery by the World Federation of Neurological Societies. He has held significant leadership roles in professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, for which he serves as Secretary. Dr. Nanda was the president of North American Skull Base Society; president of Southern Neurosurgical Society ; president of the Society of University Neurosurgeons ; and vice president of the Society of Neurological Surgeons, as well as many others at state, national and international levels. Dr. Nanda also serves as director and vice-chair of the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). We will meet with dear Nanda on the 28th of May 2022, Saturday.
